Over the years Brookx has transformed its entire batch manufacturing operations into dedicated integrated lean manufacturing cells. In doing so, Brookx has freed up large areas of office, warehouse and manufacturing space.
Brookx decided to capitalize on this opportunity for improvement and to relocate from our Zoetermeer premises to our new The Hague premises per July 1st 2014.
Brookx will continue its business from a 1.000 m² office and production facility including State-of-the-Art SMT and ESS facilities, that is part of the 50.000 m² Ypenburg Industrial Business Park. The new premises have been totally stripped and fully refitted to meet the requirements of Brookx to efficiently and effectively serve our customers.

Brookx is specialized in meeting the ever-growing need to field older defense equipment sometimes for decades. Based on a proprietary Product Data Control System, Brookx provides rigorous Configuration, Obsolescence and Procurement Management and Control, enhanced by mid-term Form-Fit-Function redesigns. As a result, Brookx routinely produces and delivers Power Supplies that have been designed back in 1979 and have been produced ever since.

Northrop Grumman Receives First Delivery of Power Supply Modules for F-35 Lightning II BALTIMORE, June 19, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) — Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has taken delivery of the first 10 sets of auxiliary power supply modules for the F-35 Lightning II aircraft radar system. Produced by Brookx Company B.V. of Zoetermeer, the Netherlands, the modules are part of the power system for the F-35’s radar array, which is being developed and produced by Northrop Grumman. “We’ve selected the best-value suppliers to join us in this unprecedented global effort to develop the F-35, and Brookx demonstrates that excellence in delivery, quality, cost and other value-added services,” said Karen Campbell, program director of F-35 Lightning II radar for Northrop Grumman.
Brookx Company B.V. (‘Brookx’) is a young company with a great history dating back to 1926. Brookx has been established October 1st 2003 via a Management Buy Out of the Power Electronics business operations of Thales in the Netherlands.
The history of Brookx Company goes back to May 1st 1926 when the brothers Leo and Pieter Van Der Heem (VDH) started producing radios in the city of The Hague, The Netherlands. VDH expanded its radio business to consumer electronics and professional equipment such as T&M equipment, mariphones, power supplies, traffic control and radar installations.
The consumer products were sold worldwide under the Erres brand while the professional equipment was branded VDH. The company prospered and in 1964 VDH was the largest industrial company in The Hague, employing over 3,000 people. In 1967 VDH was taken over by Philips and became part of the Philips Telecommunication Division, VDH concentrated on professional equipment. In 1979 VDH transferred to Philips Defense Division as part of Hollandse Signaalapparaten when VDH became Signaal Special Products (SSP). In 1990 Hollandse Signaalapparaten was taken over by Thomson-CSF and in 1994 SSP moved to Zoetermeer. In 2000 Thomson-CSF changed its name into Thales and SSP became Thales Special Products.
After a Management Buy Out on October 1st 2003, TSP’s Power Electronics business continued as Brookx Company. Several legacy power supplies, some dating back to 1979, are continued to be manufactured and serviced to date. At our premises a large bronze sculpture entitled “May your flight always be higher” created in 1951 symbolizes the drive and ambition of our predecessors. This stature was a gift from the VDH staff to Leo Van Der Heem at the 25th anniversary of the VDH company. Brookx Company keeps this spirit alive, today and in the future. With Brookx’ relocation to its founding city, the stature once more has a prominent spot in the new Brookx’ premises in The Hague.
